Job Title: Architectural Technologist

Position Overview
Size Architecture is looking for a talented and skilled Architectural Technologist to join our collaborative and driven team. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, technically strong, and motivated to contribute to projects from early design through to construction. This position is best for someone who works well both collaboratively and independently, and takes ownership of managing their time, priorities, and deadlines.
As an architectural technologist you will work on private and non-profit sectors including multi-family residential, institutional, and commercial projects. This role requires a strong understanding of building codes, construction detailing, and drawing coordination. You should be confident navigating the full design and construction process, with the ability to produce clear, accurate, and well-coordinated construction documents that translate ideas into practical, buildable solutions.
Responsibilities
Prepare and develop detailed construction drawings and documentation
Assist in design development and technical detailing
Coordinate with architects, consultants, and clients to ensure project alignment
Work with building codes, zoning by-laws, and regulatory requirements
Support permit submissions and approvals
Conduct site visits and field reviews as required
Assist in project coordination and contract administration
Ensure drawings meet firm standards for clarity, accuracy, and efficiency
Qualifications
Diploma or degree in Architectural Technology
3–5 years of relevant experience (flexible based on capability)
Legally able to work in Canada
Proficiency in AutoCad (required); Revit and other software considered an asset
Strong understanding of construction methods and detailing
Working knowledge of Manitoba Building Code
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
