Job Title: Architectural Designer

Position Overview

Size Architecture is looking for a talented and skilled Architectural Designer to join our collaborative and driven team. This role is ideal for someone who can contribute to the design process while also supporting the technical development of projects by bringing ideas to life in a clear and practical way. 

As an architectural designer you will meet with clients, create renderings, designs, and layouts that comply with industry standards. You will work on projects across private and non-profit sectors, including multi-family residential, institutional, and commercial work. This role requires a strong design sensibility and the ability to carry ideas from concept through to construction. You should be comfortable working with building codes, construction detailing, and drawing coordination, producing clear and well-coordinated documents that bring thoughtful design to life in a practical, buildable way. This position is best for someone who works well both collaboratively and independently, and takes ownership of managing their time, priorities, and deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in concept development, schematic design, and design presentations

  • Prepare design drawings, renderings, and presentation materials

  • Support the development of construction drawings and documentation

  • Collaborate with architects, technologists, and consultants throughout the project

  • Participate in client meetings and internal design discussions

  • Conduct site analysis and research to inform design decisions

  • Ensure designs align with project goals, budgets, and timelines

  • Maintain a high standard of clarity, creativity, and attention to detail

Qualifications

  • Degree in Architecture or related field

  • 2–5 years of experience (flexible based on talent and portfolio)

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and rendering software are assets

  • Strong design sensibility with the ability to communicate ideas visually

  • Basic understanding of building codes and construction methods

  • Strong organizational and communication skills

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
